what happened to the baby?

Looks bad, but really, he's fine. He was born with metatarsus adductus. The bones in the front part of the foot turn/bend toward the body. Our pediatrician sent us to a pediatric ortho doc. Monday was our first visit. We had xrays. Dr. Jex suggested we try casts for 2-3 weeks. They go all the way up to his thighs so he doesn't kick them off. We have to go back every week to have them taken off and put back on. It was a long day, we left at 8:30 to head up to Walter Reed in Bethesda and we didn't get home until 4!

He did really well until he got too tired. Then we had a crying fit and then he feel asleep. The docs were able to finish up while he was sleeping. He woke up when I changed his diaper.

He can still crawl around, but it's been hard for him to sleep really well. He ended up in our bed at 5 this morning.
